As a network marketer, I can say that I have encountered companies, that implement poor business practices.

After experiencing some bad luck on the internet, I decided to look for some specific characteristics in a business. First, I wanted to join a company that offered trainings and mentoring. I was tired of paying to join a business and then receiving little to no help from my sponsor.

I also stopped concentrating so much on the monetary rewards. One often sees on the internet promises of making a lot of money with having to do little to no work. There are exceptions, but the rule is that you do have to work hard in order to build a successful business. This is why mentoring and trainings are so important. If you have the skills to build a business, then you can achieve success.

In conclusion, my advise to anyone new to network marketing and looking for a business, should first look for a company that offers trainings and mentoring. If there are trainings available, listen to one or more of the trainings. You should be able to do this for free; without becoming a member. Then connect with your sponsor and talk with him or her and see whether the individual is someone you can work with. This too is important. Once you feel comfortable with the company and the people involved, then you can then move forward in joining.

But, don't leave it up to the company to develop your business for you. This is your job because this is your business.
