Here is something I do to create backlinks to my website as well as my blogs.
Go to Google.com.
In the upper-left corner, there is a link that says, "more". Click on this link and select the very bottom option that says, "even more".
Under "More Google Products" there is a link that says "Alerts'. Use your mouse to click on this link.
Now you should see "Welcome to Google Alerts". On the right-side of the screen, there is a box that is titled, "Create a Google Alert".
In the textbox, next to the label that says "Search terms:" you want to enter a keyword or search term. The keyword should be something that is related to your business. For example, if you are in the travel business, you want to type travel, vacations, or travel business, or some other search term that explains your business.
If you run out of ideas or are not sure what to enter as a search term, Google does have another tool that you can use to help you find useful keywords or search terms. It is called Google Keyword Tool. To get there, the website address is, "https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal". This will take you to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool.
On the left-side of the page you will notice two options. One that says "Descriptive words or phrases" and the other that says "Website content". For the first option, you normally would need to enter a few keywords or phrases. You can try this and see what kinds of results you get.
What I advise you to do is to select the "Website content" option and enter your website address. For example, for Purple Cowboy Marketing, I usually enter, "997makemoneynow.com". I don't believe that affiliate website addresses work with this tool. This is why you just enter the main portion of your website url.
Once you do this, you will see that Google comes up with quite a few keywords for you to use. You can select any number of them as keywords to enter in the Google Alerts "Search terms" textbox.
After entering a search term in Google Alerts, select the type. For type select "Blog". For How Often, leave as is, and for your email address, put in the email address you want the alerts sent to.
Once you all of the information has been filled out, click on the "Create Alert" textbox.
This will take you to a page that lists the alert you just created.
You can create more alerts by clicking on the "New Alert" button on the right-side of your screen. I suggest that you create maybe 2 or 3. If you create more, once the alerts start coming, it may be too overwhelming for you. If you want, you can always create more later on.
When you start to receive the alerts in your email, you will notice that once you look within the alerts, there are a list of links. When you click on the links, you will be taken to someone's blog.
If the topic of the blog seems interesting to you, read them and leave a comment that is of value. To leave a comment, hit the "Post Comment" button. For your name, leave the name you are trying to brand on the internet. For instance, I always leave "Lawren Smith". This is the name I am attempting to brand. You do have the option to leave an email address. For your url information. This could be either your website address or your blog address.
Try to post maybe 5 or more comments a day. This will generate tons of backlinks to your website.
