I make money but I still have a regular job. My online business doesn't pay the bills, but I'm sure it will once I get more members. I'm a GPT site owner.
I'm doing okay, it's a big learning curve just like any other business, but I now have whatever I need in place to go full time if I ever need to including recent advise concerning a schedule
If you're asking me how much money I make. I can go full time anytime I wish but it's none of your business or anyone else's how much money I make nor is it any of my business how much money you make.
Look, you're starting a business. Look at it like any off line business and follow the same principles

There you go. Perfect example as to why some folks are more comfortable working for someone else trading hours for dollars while others look to be self-employed.
I also have the same question do people actually make that kind of money that a guy can make with his or her regular job.May be thats a reality for experienced campeigners.
People online can make the same amount they would make at there full time career job. It may take them a few years to actually reach that typeof $$ each month but it's possible.
Like for example if you are a website designer you could actually make a few thousand each month depending on how many sites you have to do each month. Like the person i hired to create this custom template for the forum does custom forum skins and also custom web directory skin's. This one cost me a few hundred but i don't have to pay for support for the template at all. It's free lifetime support on the template. When i upgrade the forum software the designer fix's the template to support the new coding.
If i want custom codes made up, the designer will do this also but it'll cost me $$ depending on how hard the job is.
Took 10 days to make this template so if he has 3 jobs each month, he'll make way oveer $1,000 in a month.
The big internet guru's make a @#@% load of money each month cause they are the ones creating the products/work from home sites that we promote. The best thing to remember is.... never give up on your goals and keep on going.
I was thinking about a custom design for my new forum...but like you said, I paid a few hundred...thats a lot of money to drop down on a free advertising forum...but the style I have now is like boring and depressing...not too sure what I am doing now
and thats a good question, does anyone make money... I am sure those at the top make money, but you see so much crap out there today, it is just so confusing on who to go with...maybe this is why the dot.com industry has fallen..every one out there tripping over everyone else...I have had products in the past where I had advertised over and over with great disapointment, and I just do not have time to sit in front of my computer posting on forum after forum, and I am like everyone else, how do i get people to my site, how do i get them to signup, how do i get them to be active...and when someone does report success, then you wonder well if your making $5,000/mo why are you hanging around piss ant forums braging about it?? I sure hell would not...I would have better things to do with my $5,000/mo..wouldnt you? so you just do not know who believe, and everyone out there has you all tripped up, and they all want you to join whatever they are offering, its hard to tell what works, or doesnt work these days.
and I can be the first to tell you that I have lost $1,000's of $$$ in google advertising products and services over the years. This is not my first day as a marketer, but i have lost a lot, and I ask the same questions others do. I do not use google like I used too, why use it if I am going to loose money...why do you think google is a billion $$ industry and the people who use google are not...?

I only work with programs that i've had success with and never brag about how much i make as in lie. I'm no big guru but a plain old guy trying to each a few extra dollars to pay off bill's and now pay the damn mortage. With the economy bad right now, i'm afraid some guru's are taking advantage of in-experience internet marketers and filling up there head with false information.
My day job doesn't get any better. I work on computers for a living but the pay suck's. I know you have to spend money to make money in the internet marketing world. Nothing is handed to you for free.
I know how you feel...I had to actually get a job to get some extra money..and my wife makes good income also..is that sad or what...I gave up my TV time so she could buy more clothes....but I am just so disappointed in marketing, and have been for quite some time...I know nothing is over night, but like i said, i advertised some products for years with no success...and how do you know what is successful these days until you attempt to find what works and what doesnt.
nice forum by the way..its better to see someone engage in conversation rather just posting ad after ad...members that post something meaningful just adds better content to the forum rather then posting a one line ad / link and they are gone....
Lot of times each day, i'm deleting ad's that are posted in the wrong board. People still think there is no admin on this forum. lol

Who did you use for your forum design? does he have a site? I might check into a bit more..I think a good design will bring more visitors over the default design...I have to do something I guess, or nothing at all
Hi, Just a comment from the previous question? Can people make a profitable living online as they do with an outside job! YESSS, they can if you work hard enough at anything you do, and want it bad enough anything is possible.
I have been Marketing Online for 4yrs now, and have to say, with alot of trial and error and losing more money than I care to mention lol it does happen!
Everyday, you have to believe that you are at a real job and everything, you do or don't do will effect the outcome. Just NEVER give up and always remember it takes just as much hard work for yourself, to be successful as you have worked for someone else to be!

There is pre-made designs that look great on his site but a lot of people use them. I just got a custom skin created for this forum. Have something that no one else has and stand out from your competitors.
